Transformation in Technical Textiles and Composites Sectors Accelerates with BUTEXCOMP

The results of the first activities of the BUTEXCOMP Project, which was implemented for SMEs in order to increase the competitiveness of the composite material and technical textile sectors in Bursa, were shared with the sector representatives.

Composite Materials and Technical Textile Prototype Production and Application Center (BUTEXCOMP) Technical Assistance Project conducted by Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO) is carried out within the scope of Competitive Sectors Programme, co-financed within the framework of financial cooperation of the European Union and the Republic of Türkiye and carried out by the Ministry of Industry and Technology. . In the ‘Diagnostic Studies and Needs Analysis Consultation and Dissemination Meeting’ held with the participation of sector representatives; Market research data and technology trends collected in the light of interviews with 140 companies and needs analysis with 50 companies will be adapted to the needs of SMEs in both sectors.

Purposed to a More Competitive Ecosystem

BTSO Board Member Hakan Batmaz stated that they are purposed to create a fully integrated cluster for two sectors with BUTEXCOMP and said, “Bursa manufacturing industry needs training, R&D, consultancy, partnership and working culture to consolidate its place in the rapidly developing technical textile and composite sectors. BUTEXCOMP, which will serve in the following topics, will provide significant benefits to our companies. It will enable SMEs to become a part of a technologically richer, more efficient and more competitive ecosystem.”

Noting that the meeting is very important in shaping the future of both sectors, BUTEXCOMP Project Operations Coordination Unit Director Prof. Dr. Mehmet Karahan also said, “We will use the results of the diagnosis study in the formation of the partnership programmes of the companies, in the formation of the cluster, in the role model and supply chain studies. Especially the supply chain is very important for the correct formation of the cluster.
